Mr. Alexander (Alex) Fishbein is a law enforcement and private investigation expert with more than 40 years of serious and major crime experience. Retiring from the Halton Regional Police Service in 2010 at the rank of Detective, Alex’s expertise includes frauds, crimes against persons, computer forensic, cybercrime and organized crime investigations. His depth of experience, professionalism and analytical ability was recognized when on several occasions he was confirmed as an expert witness in criminal investigations at both the Ontario Court and Superior Court of Justice. Additionally, he has extensive expertise in major case management and complex investigative principles. During his career in law enforcement, Alex received more than 24 commendations for his outstanding performance and investigative successes.

Alex’s expertise was developed through extensive training at the Ontario Police College, Canadian Police College and provincial college levels where he successfully completed more than 24 advanced criminal investigative courses. Recognized as an early adopter of computer technology within the law enforcement environment, he developed an intense interest in utilizing computers to optimize investigations, streamline procedures and increase accuracy. Since 2009, Alex has been developing future police officers and criminal investigative experts as an instructor of cybercrime and certified fraud examiners at the Durham, Centennial and Sheridan College Public Safety/Police Foundations Programs. Since his retirement from law enforcement in 2010, Alex has become a provincially licensed private investigator. In 2011 Durham College working in conjunction with the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services appointed Alex as the Private Investigators Training Course subject matter expert. Mr. Fishbein developed the online Private Investigators Training curriculum and continues to instruct future Private Investigators. He has also worked as a consultant, course curriculum developer for identity theft and digital security seminars and courses.
